Dr. Sherldine Tomlinson's mission is to lead impactful health initiatives that bridge research, education, and practice, fostering healthier, more inclusive communities. As the founder, principal consultant, and research scientist of Tomlinson Lifestyle Medicine & Consultant (TMLC), a proudly Black-owned entity, she brings over 25 years of experience specializing in health equity advancement and the science of healthcare implementation. Her work uses evidence-based strategies to address chronic disease disparities in underserved groups, particularly Black communities.
Dr Tomlinson has a Doctor in Healthcare Science from the University of Staffordshire and is a licensed Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. Driven by a commitment to supporting health equity and addressing inequities and disparities in access to care and outcomes, she collaborated with a community health agency to initiate a culturally specific mindfulness program. This initiative addressed mental health disparities by providing culturally resonant mindfulness practices, free of charge, to promote well-being. Building on the success of the mindfulness program and other health equity projects, Dr. Tomlinson continues to partner with organizations to develop innovative initiatives targeting underserved communities.
